Mentoring 2021
After three successful years, my mentoring is entering its fourth season and next year I will again accompany 6 photographers in their personal development in the field of photography or their photo business. You can apply for the mentoring until 15.12.2020.
6 mentoring places
In my mentoring programme, I award a total of 6 places per year. I meet with each individual once a month for a 1.5 - 2 hour coaching session. This takes place either in person or virtually as an online session and is individually adapted with each participant.
Continuous
There is one thing I sorely miss in workshops and that is the possibility to look after my participants on a long-term basis. When I'm working on the pictures, I would like to give each participant individual coaching. I also see from time to time that former participants fall back into old patterns after a while. We will avoid this, because we have a whole year to work on your constant development.
The regular feedback on planned shoots and the image results over a whole year was enormously helpful for the development of one's own image style and would not have been possible with normal workshops.
The mentoring program has shown us new possibilities and paths, especially in the artistic field, and is absolutely recommendable. Together we were able to cover all the areas that were important to us - from analysis to publication - and develop in a targeted manner. We especially liked the fact that Sacha approached us individually and guided us with a lot of patience and skill to goal without prescribing a certain style or preconceived ideas.
Your goal will be our goal
Your individual development and the achievement of your photographic goal is our common task. This means it is very important that I can identify with your goal . Because we work as a team and will spend a whole year working on your development. This only works if we can both keep the motivation high.
The number of places is limited and many photographers have already expressed interest in the mentoring program. I would therefore like to ask you to describe your goal as precisely as possible when applying for a mentoring place and to give me an overview of your portfolio. During our preliminary telephone conversation we will discuss whether your goal can become our common goal .
Individual
No, there is no need for a second Sacha. I already exist and it's not about creating photographic clones of me. That's why I won't put my stamp on you, but we will work on finding your own style. Be it purely on a photographic level with the development of your own style/image language and the improvement of your post production or on a business level with the development of your own photography business. We will find out your strengths and work them out. I will put all my knowledge at your disposal.
Sacha succeeds in broadening photographic horizons in a sympathetic and at the same time persistent way. He explains excellently and, in addition to tips on the basics of photography, the mentoring leads you to deal with your own photographic preferences, role models and goals. I find the clarification of the question of why one actually takes photographs very helpful and it shows that photos are not just ISO, aperture and shutter speed."
What I like so much about mentoring is that Sacha doesn't try to impose his style on me but supports me in developing my own.
Honest and constructive
It does neither you nor me any good to butter you up. You're in the wrong place with me for caresses. Instead, you can expect honest feedback, even if it hurts sometimes. You want to develop and I expect the same from you. This requires trusting cooperation, constructive criticism and honesty.

A year of mentoring with Sacha is like the 24H Nordschleife and coming out the winner! You'll be shaken up, occasionally bumped into stupidly from the side, sometimes bang into someone violently, but you'll learn something new with every lap and on the last kilometres you'll be able to implement your acquired knowledge and courage so successfully that you'll be right at the front afterwards!
He doesn't tell me what I want to hear, but what I should hear. Honestly and directly. This is exactly the kind of mentoring I was missing and today I know that I can always rely on Sacha's expertise when I need it!
